Overview
The Buddhavaṁsa is a verse chronicle of past Buddhas culminating in Gotama Buddha. It is especially important in the later Theravāda presentation of the bodhisatta career, because it recounts the encounter with the Buddha Dīpaṅkara and the receiving of the future prediction. The text therefore sits at the meeting point of canonical verse, lineage memory, and bodhisatta aspiration themes.

The current raw reader uses BJT page-entry identifiers such as kn-bv:2.5. The BJT Pali and Sinhala native entry counts do not align perfectly in this extract, so the parallel reader uses a union of segment identifiers and displays explicit missing-edition placeholders where one side has no matching row.
Structure
At this overview stage the local wiki treats the Buddhavaṁsa as a single Khuddaka source unit. The reviewed raw source should continue to anchor navigation until later batches have normalized the internal divisions and the presentation of the sequence of past Buddhas. Later per-section or per-Buddha pages should only be created after that normalization is complete.

The batch extracted 1372 BJT Pali rows and 1370 BJT Sinhala rows from pathnirvana/tipitaka.lk; the row-count mismatch is recorded as a source-alignment fact, not normalized away. Sinhala republication status remains pending verification, so the Sinhala text is exposed locally through the reader but is not treated here as a public republication-ready translation.
