Definition: Āhāra-paccaya is the fifteenth of the twenty-four paccayas named in the Paṭṭhāna. Its canonical definition states that physical nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) is the nutriment-condition for this body, and that the immaterial nutriments are the nutriment-condition for associated dhammas and for the material form arisen from them (Paṭṭh 2; Paṭṭh 42).
Stub: pilot. This page records the canonical Abhidhamma definition first; fuller comparison with other paccayas belongs to later paccaya-family expansion.
