Summary: Suppabuddha-kuṭṭhi is the leper of Rājagaha in Ud 5.3 (cited; not yet ingested) who, drawn by curiosity into a crowd hearing the Buddha teach, heard the graduated discourse and attained stream-entry despite his disease-stricken condition. He was then trampled to death by a runaway calf and was reborn in the Tāvatiṃsa heaven. The Dhammapada-aṭṭhakathā pairs his story with Dhp 66 (the fool goes about as his own enemy, bearing bitter fruit). The canonical episode is Ud 5.3; the Dhp attribution is commentarial.
Not to be confused with Suppabuddha the Sakyan (father of Devadatta and Bhaddakaccānā; the Buddha's maternal uncle) — a distinct figure of the same name.
