Definition: In Abhidhamma usage, a cetasika is a mental factor arising together with citta and helping define its quality and function. The Dhammasaṅgaṇī introduces the category by analysing associated factors such as contact, feeling, perception, and volition within a single conscious event (Dhs 14-17, Dhs 75).
