Analysis
The book analyzes the relationship between the sensitive organs (the internal bases) and their objects (the external bases). It tests whether common names for sense organs are always equivalent to their functional Abhidhamma definitions. (Yam 3)
As in the previous book, the Pavattivāra (Process Section) is the most extensive, mapping the arising and ceasing of the sense bases across the three planes of existence (sensual, fine-material, and immaterial). (Yam 3)
